InSIS Welcomes Dr Oliver Geden

Oliver Geden

InSIS is happy to welcome Dr Oliver Geden, who is visiting with InSIS for several months.

Oliver heads the EU/Europe Research Division at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin, which advises both the German Parliament and the German Federal Government.

During his visit, Oliver will work with InSIS researchers on a project entitled “Assessing political perspectives for carbon dioxide removal in Europe”. The aim of the project is to examine the ways in which CDR might enter mainstream climate policy, particularly how the EU’s and (current) Member States’ climate policy narratives and regulations will (have to) be adjusted in order to accept and operationalise CDR technologies.

In addition, Oliver will participate in initiatives related to the Oxford Geoengineering Programme (OGP).
