Alysia Garmulewicz

Alysia Garmulewicz is a DPhil student at the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society and is supervised by Professor Steve Rayner, James Martin Professor of Science and Civilization and Director, Institute for Science, Innovation & Society.  She is co-supervised by Dr. Felix Reed-Tsochas, Director of Complex Systems at the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society and Co-Director of the CABDyN Complexity Centre.  Alysia's research focuses on industrial ecology, a field of study and practice that analyses material flows in industrial systems with the aim of transforming one-way flows of materials to closed loop cycles, thus reducing resource depletion and waste degradation.  Alysia's research seeks to understand policymaking for industrial ecology using the study of complex systems. 

Alysia received a Rhodes scholarship to study the MPhil in Geography and the Environment which she completed with distinction.  She holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary studies from Carleton University, Canada.
