Javier Lezaun has been awarded a British Council/Newton Fund grant to research the ongoing Zika virus epidemic in Brazil. The project will be conducted in collaboration with researchers at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation in Brazil (Fiocruz), and will study the response of public health research institutions to the emergence of a new infectious disease, as well as the translation of scientific knowledge into novel forms of vector control and clinical care. The project will be launched in April and will extend until the summer of 2019.
