This seminar explores regional perspectives in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) on the current situation regarding climate policy, the enhancement of carbon sinks, and new approaches to the removal of greenhouse gas from the atmosphere. It will present findings from ongoing research in the region as part of the GASCON project (Governance and Standards for Carbon Neutrality), and place them in a comparative perspective with current developments elsewhere. The seminar is hosted by the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society (InSIS), in collaboration with the University of Oxford Latin American Centre, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and ClimateWorks.
