James Palmer

James Palmer is a tutorial fellow in Human Geography at Keble College, teaching undergraduates on a range of topics including climate change policy, environmental politics, economic geography and contemporary geographies of security. He recently completed doctoral research examining the on-going knowledge controversy surrounding biofuels' indirect land-use change impacts, specifically at the European level. More generally, his research interests lie in examining the interplay of science, evidence, institutions and political power in European policy processes, especially those related to the governance of sustainable energy systems and the environment. Theoretically, he seeks to integrate approaches drawn from environmental geography, interpretive policy analysis, and science and technology studies (STS).
